About ATS

Origins

Airforce Turbine Service (ATS) is owned and operated by Jerry Dunson. J.D., as he is known by most, started his aviation career in North Texas as a pilot. Those were the fledgling years for PT6 turbine powered aircraft in general aviation and J.D. along with a few others in the industry was among the first to own and operate the PT6 on a daily basis. Blessed with the ability to understand how things work, J.D. inevitably began fixing his own aircraft and helping others do the same. As an owner and operator of the PT6 he learned, by necessity, that a good maintenance program was the key to lowering the cost of ownership. Early on in his life a wise man had told J.D. that “if you take care of the dollar bills, the hundred dollar bills will take care of themselves.” Within that maxim are found the roots of ATS and the secret to its continued success.

Location

ATS is located in Tynan, Texas about 100 miles South of San Antonio and 40 miles North of Corpus Christi, the area of Texas known geographically as the Coastal Bend. Surrounded by miles and miles of cotton fields and pastureland it is an ideal place to live and to work.
