MaintenanceRecommendationsHot Section Inspections As a rule ATS recommends that all engines receive a Hot Section Inspection (HSI) annually regardless of the time accumulated during that period. Power Section With the exception of Ag Aircraft we recommend Power Section (PS) Overhauls be done every 5000 Hrs. Ag operators should consider doing PS Overhauls every 2500 Hrs. Gas Generator We recommend that the Gas Generator section be overhauled every 5000 Hrs. Operating CostsSmall EnginesBy adhering to the maintenance schedules outlined above we have found that the small engines can be flown for approximately $45 per hour. Large Engines It is more difficult to predict the costs for these engines however we have found that typical operating costs start at around $75 per hour and increase from there. This is of course dependant upon the operator adhering to the maintenance program.Engine Trend MonitoringATS provides trend monitoring books to all of our operators.
